About angel's care
Is Angel's Care licensed and accredited?
Yes. Angel's Care Home Health is licensed by the State of Missouri, Medicaid approved, and holds a BBB A+ rating. We meet or exceed all state and federal requirements for home health care agencies. Our certifications are displayed on our website and available for review upon request.
How is Angel's Care different from other agencies?
We combine medical expertise with genuine compassion. Our team treats every patient like family — not a case number. We are locally owned and operated in St. Louis, which means decisions are made by people who know this community.
Caregiver quality
Are your caregivers background checked?
Absolutely. Every caregiver undergoes a comprehensive background check including criminal history, sex offender registry, and abuse/neglect registry screening before they are assigned to any patient. We also verify all professional licenses and certifications. Your safety is our top priority.
What training do your caregivers receive?
All caregivers complete orientation training covering patient safety, infection control, emergency procedures, HIPAA privacy requirements, and cultural sensitivity. Our nurses hold current RN licenses and maintain continuing education requirements. Personal care aides receive hands-on training in safe transfer techniques, bathing assistance, and fall prevention.
Can I request a specific caregiver?
Yes. We do our best to honor caregiver preferences. We also prioritize consistency by assigning the same caregiver to your regular visits whenever possible. If for any reason you are not comfortable with your assigned caregiver, we will arrange a replacement promptly — no questions asked.
Are your caregivers insured?
Yes. Angel's Care maintains comprehensive general liability insurance, professional liability insurance, and workers' compensation coverage for all caregivers. You are fully protected when our staff enters your home.
Getting started
How do I get started with home health care?
Getting started is simple. Call us at (314) 381-0321 or fill out our online contact form. Our care coordinator will discuss your needs, verify your insurance, and schedule an initial assessment. If your doctor has already ordered home health services, we can begin within 24 to 48 hours of receiving the referral.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
We can help coordinate with your doctor to obtain any necessary referral. For Consumer Directed Services and personal care, the process starts with a Medicaid assessment. Either way, our team guides you through every step.
How quickly can services begin?
In most cases, we can begin services within 24 to 48 hours after receiving a physician's referral and completing the initial assessment. For Consumer Directed Services, the setup process typically takes 2 to 4 weeks to complete Medicaid enrollment, background checks, and caregiver training.
What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve families throughout the greater St. Louis metropolitan area, including St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Florissant, Ferguson, North County, Jefferson County, and St. Charles County. If you are unsure whether we serve your area, please call us — we are happy to check.
Insurance & billing
Does Medicaid cover your services?
Yes. Missouri Medicaid (MO HealthNet) covers home health care, personal care, and Consumer Directed Services for eligible beneficiaries. If you are not currently enrolled in Medicaid, our team can help you understand the application process and determine if you qualify.
Will I have any out-of-pocket costs?
For Medicaid patients, most or all of our services are covered with no out-of-pocket cost. If you have private insurance or need services beyond what your insurance covers, we will clearly explain any costs before services begin. We believe in complete transparency — no surprise bills.
Do you accept private pay?
Yes. Families who prefer to pay privately or who need additional hours beyond what insurance covers can arrange private-pay services. We offer competitive hourly rates and can create a care plan that fits your budget. Contact us for current pricing.
Services & scheduling
What is Consumer Directed Services (CDS)?
Consumer Directed Services is a Missouri Medicaid program that allows you to hire a family member, friend, or neighbor as your paid caregiver. You choose who provides your care, and Angel's Care handles all the administrative work — payroll, taxes, insurance, background checks, and compliance. It is a wonderful option for families who want care from someone they already know and trust.
Can a family member be paid as my caregiver?
Yes, through the Consumer Directed Services (CDS) program. Missouri Medicaid allows spouses, adult children, siblings, and other family members to serve as paid caregivers. We handle the payroll, taxes, and paperwork. Your family member receives bi-weekly pay via direct deposit. Contact us to learn more about eligibility.
Do you offer overnight or 24-hour care?
Yes. While most of our services are scheduled in shifts of 1 to 8 hours, we can arrange extended hours, overnight care, or 24-hour live-in care for patients who need continuous assistance. Overnight and 24-hour care options are available for elderly home care and personal care services.
What happens in an emergency or after hours?
Our clinical team is available by phone for urgent patient needs. If you experience a medical emergency, always call 911 first. For non-emergency concerns after hours — such as questions about medications, changes in condition, or scheduling issues — you can reach our on-call team for guidance.
